Trend Spin Linkup Week 2 - Neon

So excited to link up with Walking in Memphis in High Heels again for Trend Spin Linkup this week! It's all about neon today.

I took a different approach with the neon trend. As you might all be well aware, I am a huge fan of neutrals. Yep. I know it comes as a surprise..haha. But I found this cardigan on sale at Target (sadly it's not on sale online though) I paired it with a cream blouse, black pants (my go-to for work) and some fun gold and neutral pointy toe pumps (TJ Maxx). What do you think? The cardigan is much brighter in person like a coral neon color.

You do need it.

Cream Colors

You know the saying.. "You don't need it." Well I think you do. Go for it. Get it all. Okay, kidding because if I truly just went for it all I'd be living back at my moms in a teeny tiny room consumed of all my belongings..~~hoarder~~. But there are times that I just HAVE to have it. Don't you? Well if I had my way, I'd have all of the following things below that I am just lusting to have right now. But I must have self control because rent is due and if the new apartment comes through..then that means moving and moving costs money. Ah. Anyways you know my love of golds and beiges and here is just more proof that I am drawn to none other than all of these colors. I have a wedding to attend next weekend and I think I am going to order the gold pumps below to go with a dress I found at Franchesca's. I'll post the wedding look soon!

So that's my story and I am sticking to it. Consider the shoes bought! xoxo

Long time, no talk

I really need to start blogging more. It's been over a month since I last posted. I know, I know, I need to get it under control.

Anywho, here's a little update on me. The house is coming along but has been put on a hault as I have recently been given an opportunity to advance in my company. Hopefully with said advancement comes increased pay and then I can look for a place closer to work. (The houses are a bit more money) So fingers crossed that this works out and I can start looking for something new.

As for the last month, I took some time off and went on a cruise which was probably the best thing I could of done. I really needed some time away. B and I enjoyed ourselves and met some great people! Don't you just love when you connect with strangers? Ha! In the end, we exchanged contact info and I am excited to have new friends in different states!

So Spring has sprung in these parts and I am really craving some color in my wardrobe. You all know how much I love cream, gold and black. I find it hard to stray from those colors because I love them so much. With that said here are a few lovely pieces that I am DROOLING over and would love to incorporate some of this into my current wardrobe.

I am really loving the colored pants and jeans right now - although I don't have any! I think I will be in search of some colored bottoms soon because these are just gorg.

They pair extremely well with my Banana Republic sloan work pants and Stella & Dot pearl necklace! Oh and those cute little sunnies are from Forever 21 for $5.80. I'm loving. Buy them here.

What does the name mean?

Why the name -- Hightailing in High Heels?

Well, are you always on the go? Always worrying about something? Appointments here? Lunch meetings there? Pick up this by then? Etc. Always spreading yourself so thin during the week that by Friday you wonder if you'll have energy to do anything for the weekend. Well yes that is me too.

I want this blog to be an outlet, something that I can look back and say yes I did that and I'm learning to do it better. Or yes I should of done that and I am going to take a shot at it trying again. Life is about choices. I want to experience life everyday and not get so caught up in everything that I don't truly enjoy it.

Yes we all work hard for a living but take remember to take the 5 minute break, eat a candy bar, say the bad word and then move on. There are so many precious things that we should be happy for!

Life is too short and we often lose sight of what is important so I want to make sure that while I am hightailing it everywhere, that I take a minute here and there to take it all in. I want to absorb the beauty of all that is around me and truly be grateful.

So let me leave you with a great quote that I have heard recently. I apologize that I do not know who originally said it but it is the truth.
