Happy Tuesday! I am loving this Trend Spin Linkup each week with Walking in Memphis in High Heels and The Fashion Canvas . Today's theme is chambray!

I am a huge fan of chambray but I have only been able to add a few pieces to my wardrobe. My most recent purchase was this adorable chambray dress from Old Navy. It is perfect for work and so comfortable! It came with a fabric belt but I wanted to add something different so I used a cute rope belt and completed the outfit with wedges! What do you think?

It's been a busy few days. I've done a lot in such a short time. I am seriously learning to love the skin I am in and enjoy my life. Crazy how things turn out.

I caved.

beach time

Ever feel like you give too much? And receive too little? Lately, that's how I am feeling around these parts. It's really hard to get a handle on life sometimes and I think it slips between our fingers. I am beginning to learn how much I can truly take on and I know that we are only given as much as we can take but there are days where it just feels like it's too much. I plan to start reminding myself that life does go on and good things will happen to good people in time. So patience is obviously a big part in life. Sometimes we just need a little reminder. It was nice to get away last weekend even if it was just for work. I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things and for the long weekend ahead which includes lots of time at the beach! Oh and a little me time with a hair appointment, pedicure, manicure and some shopping. It's the little things that make me happy..haha!

Also.. I decided to take the plunge and purchase a new curling iron. I love my wand but sometimes it is just too difficult to hold. Anyone use the Chi curling iron? I got it at a MAJOR steal at Target using coupon codes, gift cards and my red card! And I even purchased the 2 year warranty and still managed to only spend $9. Woo hoo! I will do a little review on it once I receive it next week.

What does the name mean?

Why the name -- Hightailing in High Heels?

Well, are you always on the go? Always worrying about something? Appointments here? Lunch meetings there? Pick up this by then? Etc. Always spreading yourself so thin during the week that by Friday you wonder if you'll have energy to do anything for the weekend. Well yes that is me too.

I want this blog to be an outlet, something that I can look back and say yes I did that and I'm learning to do it better. Or yes I should of done that and I am going to take a shot at it trying again. Life is about choices. I want to experience life everyday and not get so caught up in everything that I don't truly enjoy it.

Yes we all work hard for a living but take remember to take the 5 minute break, eat a candy bar, say the bad word and then move on. There are so many precious things that we should be happy for!

Life is too short and we often lose sight of what is important so I want to make sure that while I am hightailing it everywhere, that I take a minute here and there to take it all in. I want to absorb the beauty of all that is around me and truly be grateful.

So let me leave you with a great quote that I have heard recently. I apologize that I do not know who originally said it but it is the truth.
